Trained as an architect, Marni Jade Evans, LEED AP BD + C, is a sustainability educator, consultant and mentor as founder of the Austin, TX based office.
With fourteen years of professional sustainability experience,Marni possesses a deep passion for transformation of the development industry,
after a spiritual awakening
led her to question conventional process and unsustainable patterns in the way we design and build today. Her spark has ignited individuals and organizations to pursue deep green solutions- be it career transitions into sustainability or
pursuit of LEED and the Living Building Challenge.
Past Experience
With experience on over 35 LEED projects in Canada, the US and Mexico, over 200 LEED projects as a LEED reviewer to the USGBC and CaGBC, and two projects aspiring to Living Building Challenge status, Marni's sustainable development consulting history is diverse.
Marni is also the past Director for the Sustainable Sites Initiative™ (SITES) rating system – on behalf of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in partnership with the American Society of Landscape Architects and the U.S. Botanic Garden.
She also launched the Sustainability website for the New York Times About.com.
Through her own firm, and past experience as an Associate Green Building Consultant with Paladino & Company, her range of skills covers all aspects of building design development and construction.
Marni's experience as Washington State Director of the Cascadia Green Building Council enabled her work in non-profit advocacy, outreach, education and event planning - leading a talented team to create the Living Future Unconference and build capacity for educational transformation in her region.
Education & Credentials
After completing a Master of Architecture (2000) and Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design (2000) from Montana State University - Bozeman, Marni jumped head first into the Sustainable Building Advisor Certificate Program, awarded by the Sustainable Building Advisor Institute in 2002.
Marni holds the LEED AP BD + C and LEED Canada AP designation and has been a LEED Accredited Professional since 2003.
